Stephanie Adler Yuan, MS (she/her/hers), joined the Planetree team in January 2024 as VP& Chief of Staff, bringing two decades of experience working at the intersection of communications, education, and organizational culture. She most recently served as Director of Programs for the Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare, where she was responsible for the organization’s flagship staff wellbeing and mental health programs and led a team that developed and provided training, education, and resources for interprofessional leaders at more than 600 hospitals and health systems in the US and beyond.
Stephanie holds an appointment as Adjunct Faculty in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University and has spoken widely on narrative medicine and relationships of care at many leading healthcare institutions. She has published articles on oral history-informed perspectives on patient experience and narrative medicine in medical education and is currently part of a research team investigating the impact of a narrative medicine-based intervention on family partner-inclusive pediatric complex care teams. In addition to an MS in Narrative Medicine from Columbia, Stephanie holds a BA in French Literature and International Relations from Tufts University.
